Sarah & Andy's Dominican Wedding

What a fantastically challenging experience my first international assignment proved to be. Sarah & Andy invited me to shoot some of their wedding photos in La Romana, Dominican Republic. Their wedding package with the hotel gave them a Dominican photographer for the ceremony and for some personal shots.

It became apparent during the ceremony, that their photographer hadn't turned up at all !! I had the task of taking over the entire shoot at no notice ! Here's some of the images we produced.

Diane & Shaun

It's Diane & Shaun's big day and the setting is the historic Filby Church. in Norfolk. The reception will be at the Cliff Hotel in Gorleston, so should be really good for some beach shots later. the bandstand is always a great favourite with couples, so watch this space for some pics.

During our pre wedding meeting, we went outside at Shaun's parents home to shoot a couple of photos. It was a real challenge as it was after dark !

Here's a couple of photos from the session.

Siobhan & Gareth Wedding day. Lowestoft

The big day is here and We are in Lowestoft. Siobhan looks a million dollars in a classic white dress with red inlay. Absolutely beautiful. The house was chaotic, but buzzing with anticipation. The venue is one of Lowestoft's iconic landmarks - St Margaret's Church.

The reception is at the Corton hut, with most of the guests being transported between venues by a big red bus !

I've just been treated to a fabulous buffet by the family. A much appreciated gesture, thanks guys.

Here's some teasers of the day so far....

Siobhan & Gareth

The big day is almost here for Siobhan & Gareth. Today we were sorting the final bits and bobs for the wedding day photography, and had play with the camera for a short pre wedding shoot.

The couple have a really cool original look and were great fun and easy to work with.  We found a couple of spots around Arminghall, including an old shed door which made a great backdrop!

Here's a few shots from the pre shoot. See you guys on Saturday !

Sharon & Graham, St Nicholas Church, Gt Yarmouth.

Well, the big day has finally arrived for this fun-loving couple. Sharon & Graham have had their share of challenges getting this gig off the ground, thanks to the sudden closure of Caldecott Hall, which put the plans for their big day into chaos.

Luckily, the Comfort Hotel in Gt Yarmouth were able to offer their services for the reception so the day could go ahead.  The ceremony was held at St Nicholas Church Gt Yarmouth, otherwise known as Gt Yarmouth Minster. Quite simply, a stunning building, boasting the largest floor plan for a parish  church in England.

Here's a selection of shots from the day....

Katie & Jamie's wedding, Gorleston, Norfolk

11am, Saturday 9th August. We are at the brides home, with lots going on in the run up to the 1pm  ceremony in Gorleston.  Although busy, Katie seems to be taking it all in her stride at the moment.

Here's a couple of prep shots so far...

Bridegroom Jamie at the church

Katie with her dad Philip, about to go into the church. The look says it all...

Never let your best man near your shoes before a wedding lol!!

Husband and wife, the walk down the aisle. Cautionary tale here....an over-enthusiastic guest with an iPhone camera could potentially cause the official photographer and videographer to miss these vital story-book shots !!!

This was shot later in the day on Gt Yarmouth beach near the Winter gardens. I did a bit or work on this with Photoshop, mainly to remove the rubbish left on the beach by holidaymakers !

Thanks to Katie & Jamie for a great shoot, and congratulations to them both.

More to come soon!

Sarah & Barry at The Old Rectory, Norwich

Sarah & Barry took the unusual step of choosing to get married on a Sunday. The big day is on 3rd August and the ceremony will be taking place at Lowestoft's highest geographical point - St Margarets Church.

I met the couple for our pre-wedding planning meeting two weeks ago at Parkhill. We decided to do a couple of pre wedding shots there. Even though it was an extremely hot and bright sunny day, the spot we found proved to be great for some personal shots.
Here's some pics from the shoot.

And heres' some of the big day!

These were taken once the dress was on, and as Sarah was putting the final touches to her wedding ensemble.  Both were unposed shots. I was just waiting for the right look, then click, there it was !

I shot this as Sarah and her dad arrived at the church in the Merc.
Far from looking nervous, she looked radiant and gorgeous !

This was shot as the couple came to the front door to exit the church. I stopped them momentarily to set this shot up while the guests waited in the church. It requires just a bit of patience from the guests, but its a one-in-a-lifetime shot.

The reception took place at the Old Rectory hotel on the North Walsham Road just outside of Norwich.  The venue has beautiful gardens and a large patio and outdoor seating area just off the breakfast room. Just right for the wedding guests to enjoy the warm summer evening.

Barry and Sarah had a huge list of requested shots on their wish list.  Many more than I usually recommend,  but everyone seemed to enjoy the photography element of their day !

here's a couple of shots taken away from the guests in a quiet moment with the bride and groom alone.

Congratulations to a fabulous couple !
